BAM Plugs was founded by Brandon De Leon, a lifelong fisherman and craftsman with a deep passion for the Great Lakes and salmon fishing. The idea for BAM Plugs was born out of frustration after watching fellow anglers pay outrageous prices for discontinued or outdated plugs, Brandon knew there had to be a better way.

From 2018 to 2024, Brandon committed himself fully to mastering every aspect of plug creation. He studied everything from color theory and salmonid genetics to hydrodynamics and lure behavior. He taught himself CAD design, prototyping, manufacturing, and custom airbrushing all to ensure each plug met the highest standards in both performance and durability.

But Brandon’s connection to the water started long before BAM. Practically born on a boat, his earliest memories are on the deck of his grandfather’s vessel in Frankfort, Michigan. Baby pictures show him there at just four months old. He spent his youth fishing and working out of Frankfort alongside his grandfather and a close family friend who ran a charter operation. Though he moved away in 2010, the call of the lake never left him.

Today, BAM Plugs represents more than just lures it’s a return to roots and a mission to make high-quality, effective salmon plugs accessible to all anglers. Every plug is designed with precision, tested with passion, and built to catch fish not break the bank.
